This piece of jewelry consists of a main part that can be used both as a ring and as a pendant by placing a lock on the base of the ring and opening this main part, in which a mirror is used and enameled. It also has space for chains that turn it into a pendant. Also, this piece can be used in two directions. Both directions are designed using the forms available in Golestan Palace, one side of which is a turquoise piece of Neishabour and the other side is a simple pattern.
Spatial is a two finger ring designed for everyday wear. The ring is made of 18k gold plated brass and is set with blue and white druzy. An open metal frame structure holds the stone, so that both the stone and the frame receive emphasis. The open form keeps the druzy clearly visible and prevents the metal from dominating the design. The geometric structure follows principles taken from architecture. The contrast between the frame and the shining stone expresses hope and strength. The ring is offered in sizes 6 and 7.
Informed by philosophers like Rosi Braidotti and Donna Haraway, this project utilizes Cyborg and Cyber-punk elements in pop culture to construct this super surreal series. With a flexible adoption of industrial manufactured materials, the pieces in this project is completely constructed by interchangeable parts, that allows the wearers to replace and even remake the jewellery using all those spare "chips and bars". This collection intends to construct a context in which the wearer can experience a fantasy post human future to break the perception traditionally of gender and identity.
Baobab Tree is a jewelry collection in silver that includes a ring, a long station necklace and a bracelet. The main motif is based on the Flower of Life, a geometric pattern of overlapping circles. The pattern is transformed into rounded petals, so the ring shows a large organic flower when worn on the finger. Seen from the side, the same ring forms the image of a baobab tree, also known as the Tree of Life. The motifs were drawn with 3D CAD and then produced by hand with wax modeling and traditional metal craft techniques.
Blooming Beauty is a handcrafted ring inspired by night blooming water lilies. The ring is made of silver with a black and gold rhodium polish. The petals are finished with plique a jour enamel in a blend of hot magenta and purple heart tones, which brightens under light and looks denser in dim conditions. A polki diamond is set in the movable centre ball. The structured petals and the centre ball can be moved and placed over the fingers or the hand, so the wearer can vary the look. The ring measures 73.5 by 63.5 millimetres.
Sunset Sunrise is a ring inspired by the changing light of sunrise and sunset. The ring has two parts, a rigid main body with a fixed half torus and a movable half torus, joined by a hidden screw. Turning the movable part shifts the ring between closed and open positions and gradually reveals the diamond. The movement can be stopped at any point, so the ring can be worn fully open, partially open or fully closed, and each position creates a new expression. Sunset Sunrise is handcrafted from 925 sterling silver with a high polished finish.
Pride is a unisex wristwatch inspired by the annual pride parades held around the world. The hour, minute and second hands carry the six colors of the rainbow and move continually across the face, forming changing compositions through the day. At noon and at midnight the hands align to form a full rainbow, a symbol of unity. The case is made of black IP stainless steel with hidden lugs that join the black leather band seamlessly. A Japanese quartz movement is housed inside the 40 mm case.
Infinite Series is a collection of rings formed by continuous stream lines. The lines flow over each ring from front to back and from inside to outside, folded and overlaid. The design offers a visual experience that follows a continuous loop in three dimensions. Such a loop cannot be shown in two dimensions and is understood only by observing the ring as a three-dimensional object. The patterns and shapes were generated with a computational dynamic design system. Each ring is made by wax printing and cast in matte black steel.
Noble Perfumer is a pair of scented cufflinks designed for men's formal wear. Each cufflink holds a small piece of polished raw wood inside a stainless steel case in silver colour. Perfume is sprayed or dropped onto the wood, and hollow patterns on the cover allow the scent to spread. The cover opens with a magnet closure, so the wood can be refilled or replaced when another fragrance is preferred. The scent lasts one to two days. Because perfume is not sprayed on the shirt, stains and mixed scents are avoided. Both the cover and the wood can be custom made.
The Door of One's Heart is a necklace made of 18K gold, diamonds and enamel. The pendant is formed of two layers shaped like doors. When the back piece is moved to the right, the two doors rotate and together form a heart. A new bearing structure inside the pendant allows the movement, and a fine buckle fixes the doors at an angle of 90 degrees. The necklace can be worn in two forms, each with its own appearance and meaning. The design uses simplified lines to express the idea of opening the door of the heart.
Herism is a jewellery collection of rings, earrings, a bracelet and a brooch. The collection is inspired by the working tools of the women labour brigades that built bridges and roads in China during the 1960s and 1970s. Bold shapes and industrial structures recall that period, while flexible chains refer to the many social roles of women today. Each piece is made of silver with gold plating and set with lab-grown gemstones, which are held without prongs. Herism is intended as a symbol of female strength and of more sustainable buying.
Star Map is a custom necklace that shows the night sky as it appeared at a chosen time and place. The pendant carries a darkened engraving of constellations, orbital lines and the Milky Way, while circular cutouts represent the planets of the solar system. Each pendant measures 31.75 mm in diameter and 1.4 mm in thickness, and is made of brass plated with 14k gold, sterling silver or rose gold. A central hole holds the chain, which is adjustable up to 22 inches. The design keeps a personal moment in lasting form.
