Journey to Lijiang
Journey to Lijiang is a series of illustrations about the city of Lijiang in China. The illustrations use the image of a tile cat, known as Wa Mao, as the main visual element. Wa Mao is a local cultural symbol and acts as a guide to the natural scenery and the ethnic traditions of Lijiang. Traditional cultural symbols are abstracted and redrawn in a modern visual style. The series is created with vector design software and produced with high level printing technology. The aim is to support the awareness and protection of the local culture.
